UPCOMING EVENTS

Christmas Eve Worship Service
Our annual Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion Service will begin at 5:00 p.m.  Because we practice Open Communion (one does not need to be a member of our congregation to celebrate Communion), this is another wonderful time to invite family and friends to join you.

Ladies Prayer Group
Our Ladies Prayer Group will meet Friday, December 19th, at 11:00 a.m., in the Keene Room.  All the ladies in the church are encouraged to attend.

Friendship Club​
The Friendship Club will gather for a Dutch-treat lunch Wednesday, December 17th, at Long Horn Steakhouse (7740 Kingston Pike, parking lot of West Town Mall), at 11:00 a.m.  These social gatherings are for anyone who wishes to attend; feel free to invite someone to join you.  A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside the Church Office.

Choir's Christmas Musical
and Live Nativity
Our Choir's Christmas Musical is Sunday evening, December 21st, at 6:00 p.m.  Since driving after dark is a problem for many people, we have volunteers ready to give people a ride to and from this special Worship Service; simply contact the Church Office (865-588-8581 or firstcpc@kfcpc.comcastbiz.net) and request transportation.

Christmas Mailbox
The Christmas Mailbox (metal bucket) is in the Narthex.  This mailbox is for the free distribution of Christmas cards between active church members and regular attenders.  Sorted cards will be on the white table in the Narthex to be picked up at your convenience.

Cumberland Presbyterian Women's  Ministry
Our annual Christmas collections have begun. 
The Mitten Trees for the Coalition for Appalachian Ministries (CAM) are now up in our Narthex.  We will be collecting mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats for the people of Appalachia until Sunday,
December 28th.
The Angel Tree, which will support the Waters of Clinton Nursing Home patients, is now in our Library.  We will be buying 2 presents for each of the 23 patients.  Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will have only one week to buy all of these presents.  So please help us to get all this done, as all the presents will be delivered that next week.  The due date is December 22nd.

Monthly Prayer Night
Our next Monthly Prayer Night is December 30th, at 6:30 p.m., in the Keene Room.  Everyone is invited to attend.
Lois Witmer Circle
The Lois Witmer Circle of our women's ministry will meet on Tuesday, January 6th, at 11:00 a.m., in the Keene Room.  Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Friendship Club, P.M. Edition
The Friendship Club, P.M. Edition will gather for a Dutch-treat dinner Thursday evening, January 8th, at Parkside Grill (338 North Peters Rd), at 6:30 p.m.  These social gatherings are for anyone who wishes to attend; feel free to invite someone to join you.  A sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside the Church Office.
